Mars Tsunuki Peated 2020, NAS, 50 %

Distilled 2016 and 2017, then bottled 2020. Limited to 14830 bottles. This was the second ever release of single malt from the young Mars Tsunuki Distillery, established 2016. The owner, Hombo Shuzo, also owns the Mars Shinshu Distillery.

The Mars Tsunuki Peated 2020 is available in Norway at NOK 1800 (13718601).

Nose: A medium peaty nose, with added dark chocolate and toasted oak. With time smoky brownies served with ice cream and tropical fruits.

Taste: Rather peaty on the palate; smoky chocolate sauce, smoky BBQ chili glaze, and hot embers. A bit salty as well. Honey and creamy vanilla.

Finish: Medium long finish. Still quite peaty, but sweeter now. Hard candy with rich fruit flavors. Strawberries and vanilla ice cream. Grilled pineapple covered in sticky BBQ glaze.
