Old Pulteney Flotilla Vintage 2010, 10 YO, 46 %

Matured for 10 years in 1st fill ex-bourbon casks. As far as I can tell this is the 5th Flotilla release from Old Pulteney; the previous ones being the vintages 2000, 2004, 2005 and 2008.

The Old Pulteney Flotilla Vintage 2010 will be available in Norway this Monday at NOK 740 (13804101).

Nose: Somewhat sour. Hints of bicycle tire repair kit. Appears young. With time the expected maritime notes as well as a moderate fruitiness.

Taste: Medium body. Salty, rubbery and young-ish. Creamy vanilla. Earthy cinnamon.

Finish: Medium to long finish. Much improved now. Balanced sweet fruitiness and spices. Hints of salt here as well.

Comment: Surprised by the notes of rubber.
