Today I present to you the Paul John 6 YO Batch 3 from independent bottler That Boutique-y Whisky Company. This is a 6 YO peated whisky from Indian distillery John Distilleries. The distillery was established in 1992, and their Paul John single malt was launched internationally in 2012.

John Distilleries source local Indian barley for their whisky production.

You can pick up a bottle of Paul John 6 YO Batch 3 online at around GBP 98.

Nose: Even peatier than the official Paul John Peated Select Cask. This is a dram that was on fire - yesterday. We have just reached the burned out remnants - or perhaps the burned out bonfire. Heaps of tropical fruits, mixed citrus, candy bars and a handful of red berries are reduced to ashes. The fragrances coming off of the remnants are sweet and seductive. Surprisingly clean and crisp, given my description so far. Love this!

Taste: Full bodied, with medium sweetness and a creamy mouthfeel. Whoa! This is a fully immersive experience. Is there such a thing as 3D taste? The depth and complexity here is surprising and high definition. As balanced as the Tokyo Skytree during an earthquake - in other words it is rock steady (one might also say it is up-rocking, but that would be very 1980s of me).

Finish: Long finish. Continues as it started, and I am perfectly fine with that. It soars, it glides, it swoops, it lands - ever so softly.

Comment: Wow! Indian whisky! Boom!
