Scapa Distillery on Orkney released their first ever core range products with an age statement in 2024; a fine line-up of a 10 YO, 16 YO (see review) and 21 YO (see review). Prior to this they only had the no age statement expressions Scapa Glansa (see review) and Scapa Skiren (see review). The Scapa 10 YO is, typical to Scapa, matured exclusively in American oak casks.

Nose: Creamy and fruit-forward, brimming with vanilla, ripe apple, apricot, and pineapple. A touch of honey emerges with time.

Taste: Full-bodied and luxuriously creamy. A delightful balance of tropical fruits, soft spices, and rich vanilla. Mild pepperiness and subtle dry notes of pencil shavings provide structure.

Finish: Medium long. The creamy fruitiness lingers, now accompanied by added spices. A dry, herbal twist slowly unfolds toward the end.

Comment: Bold and flavorful.
