Fary Lochan Smoke & Sherry Batch #02

Fary Lochan Smoke & Sherry Batch #02, 8 YO, 50.7%

Made using nettle smoked Danish barley. Initially matured for seven years and two months in 2 1st fill ex-bourbon quarter casks, then finished for one year and five months in a single 1st fill ex-PX sherry hogshead. Bottled 2022-08-05 and limited to 533 bottles (50 cl).

Nose: Full on orchard fruits and distant woodlands on fire. With time earthy and slightly dirty notes of tropical fruit and smoked meat on the barbecue.

Taste: Full bodied. Big sherry notes and a moderate level of smokiness. Sweet and rather wine like. Prunes and plum juice.

Finish: Medium long finish. Plum jam, dark chocolate, wood smoke and warm spices.

Comment: Medium long finish. Warmer and more cozy now. Mulled wine, mild spices, toasted oak and wood smoke. Deep and and comforting sweetness.

Score 86/100
