Shelter Point Ripple Rock

Shelter Point Ripple Rock, NAS, 46%

A whisky from Canadian distillery Shelter Point. Here’s what the official product page says:

“[..] aged in alligator charred virgin American oak casks and bourbon barrels.”.

Nose: Sweet and enticing, with rich notes of caramel, fudge, butterscotch, marshmallows, and creamy vanilla. It's a lot, but in a good way.

Taste: Medium to full-bodied, starting with a peppery and slightly rough edge. Then follows the caramel flurry from the nose, accompanied by charred oak and pepper.

Finish: Medium to short, with lingering borderline burnt notes, rich caramel, dry oakiness, and peppery spiciness.

Comment: A fine and fiery dram with rye vibes.

Score 83/100
