Distilled July 2014, matured in ex-PX hogsheads, and bottled August 2022. Limited to 2382 bottles.

The Smögen 2014 8 YO was available in Sweden at SEK 816 (38434), but is now sold out.

Nose: Deep, dark, and murky, with notes of dried fruits, earth cellar, wet leaves, and an autumn wood path after heavy rainfall. It becomes increasingly aromatic and dirty with time, featuring distant pine wood on fire. Red berries and orchard fruits are sprinkled with soot and hot embers, with hints of root vegetables freshly pulled from the soil.

Taste: Full-bodied and potent, with a rich, fruity, and peaty profile. Orchard fruits and red berries are joined by rowan berries with a bitter touch. Massively peaty and smoky, yet maintaining a gentle touch.

Finish: Long and persistent, with dried fruits becoming deeper, darker, and more prominent. Dark spices, soot, freshly turned black soil, and mild oakiness emerge, alongside sugar cubes infused with autumn essence. The ever-present pine wood forest continues to smolder in the background.

Comment: A captivating experience.
